Stand-Up comedian Orney Adams told a joke Wednesday night that was so universally hilarious that world hunger was obliterated. Adams, performing at the Ranch Bowl in Omaha, Nebraska, managed this feat at 9:45pm, twenty minutes into his headlining set.
The joke itself was an extended meditation on bad drivers, particularly the elderly, culminating in the punchline “A bigger beehive won’t help you see over the steering wheel, Murial!” creating an apex of laughter so high that the problem of starvation was solved. Adams had already built the crowd up with his unique perspective on cellular telephones, the recent death of Amy Winehouse, and race relations in America before launching into the hunger-curing bit.
When asked for a comment on his miracle, Adams replied: “Well, I’ve worked really hard to get where I am today, and I’m glad that it’s starting to pay off. I’m not surprised this happened, I mean, I am basically the top comic in the game today. If you don’t believe me, then come check me out Thursday-Saturday at the Juke Box in Peoria, Illinois.”
Pope Benedict has nominated Adams for sainthood
