Man Unsure If He Left Oven On During Trip to Jamaica

Watching your brother get married in Jamaica is supposed to be one of the happiest times of your life, but not for Chicago native Adam Collins who has been waiting all year to take this trip and is now worried he may have forgot to turn off his oven before leaving his apartment.  “I’ve been picking up extra shifts at the Whole Foods I work at for the last 3 months, and now I can’t even enjoy my vacation, because I’m worried my apartment is going to burn down,” said Collins.

This is not the first time Collins has thought he may have left an appliance on after leaving his apartment.  Three years ago, Collins thought to have left his iron on after leaving for work, only later remembering that the iron shuts itself off after not being used for an allotted amount of time.  “It was really stressful.  I was already late for work, and then all of a sudden it pops in my head, ‘you forgot to unplug the iron!’

Collins swore to never be this irresponsible again about leaving his appliances on, but just 3 short years later, he has found himself in the same situation.  Collins is currently on a plane to Jamaica and has no service.  Collins has had two domestic beers on the plane to try and relax. “At best, my apartment is going to be really hot when I get back.  I guess I’ll just worry about it then.”
